CARAVANING CAMPING FISHING 4WDING COOKING PROSPECTING
Welcome to
Brandiscape Adventures
We are Brad and Mandi and welcome to our site where we are sharing our adventures of caravaning, camping, glamping, 4WDing, fishing, fossicking and prospecting, camp oven cooking, site seeing, exploring, and so much more across South East Queensland and beyond...wherever the road or bush track takes us, with lots of laughs along the way, and sharing tips and tricks and how to maintenance videos, and lots of other things we have learned along the way in our travel's.
We both share a love of the outdoors and finding those camp spots that are a little out of the way and away from the sometimes crowded campgrounds, preferably near a river or on the beach as we both love fishing and kayaking, and sitting around the fire hearing nothing but nature while cooking dinner in the camp oven.
The name Brandiscape is a combination of both of us, Brandi, and we love Escaping the busy city life for the serenity of the bush, the beach, or anywhere our next Adventure takes us.
We stared filming our adventures in 2023, and are sharing them on our YouTube channel for everyone to enjoy. You can follow our journey and adventures by subscribing to our channel, and also follow us on our Facebook page and Instagram to stay up to date with where we are at.
About us
Being born and raised in the country around Boonah QLD, I have always had a love for the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, which have been a part of my life since I was young, even growing up and completing my carpentry apprenticeship before moving on to work in other trades and industries, I used to dream of getting away to find the best campsite and go fishing, and now I am looking forward to traveling Australia with Mandi in our caravan. The idea of exploring new locations and landscapes and experiencing the beauty of nature, including magical sunrises and sunsets, has always excited me, and now I can't wait to travel full time and enjoy life on the road as a semi grey nomad, and exploring new areas. From the beach to the bush, there is so much to see and do, with new fishing locations, new campsites, and new meals to cook in the camp oven on the fire, I am so keen to take on this adventure and create lasting memories while enjoying the freedom of life on the open road.
I was Born in Far North Queensland, then grew up in and around Brisbane, where I have always considered myself a city girl. However, recently and after many camping and caravaning trips with Brad over the past few years, I have developed a new love for the countryside and the outback, and the wide open spaces. As a chef by trade and a lover of the beach, I never would have thought I would come to love being away from it all as much as I do, and cant wait for our next getaway to another amazing campsite, and also to live in our caravan on the road full time. I often find myself seeking the next adventure and getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I also love fishing and catching more and bigger fish than Brad, with both of us being so competitive it always turns into a competition and we have lots of laughs together even though I always win. My passion for cooking and my newfound appreciation for nature and the bush have allowed me to find a balance between the two worlds, and I am excited to see where this new journey will take me and us together.
Our home on wheels
G'day I'm Brad
G'day I'm Mandi
This is our rig and our set up, and soon to be our home on wheels wherever we park it. Our tow vehicle is a 2017 Isuzu Dmax space cab with a custom built canopy on the tray, and quite a few mods to set it up for touring including GVM upgrade, and a custom lithium battery with solar set up to power a fridge and other accessories. Our caravan is a 2015 Jayco Starcraft Outback 16.51-3 which has a Cruisemaster independent suspension ATM upgrade, and a large custom lithium battery and additional solar setup with an inverter to power everything that we will ever need, and allows us to be Off the Grid indefinitely, as long as we have sunshine, which is always nice to have on any caravaning or camping trip.
Where we stay
With so many great places and campsites to visit, it is hard to decide on a spot sometimes, but here we will share how we find some of the great campsites we go to and stay at. Most of the time we use Hipcamp to search for and find the campsites we go to, which is the easiest way to discover the nice private sites, mostly away from other sites, you get to see photos of the sites before you go, and once booked through Hipcamp online, the site is yours and you dont have to worry about someone else being on it when you get there. It is an easy process if you havent used Hipcamp before, and you can get online and book your next campsite now here π
If we are not camping on a Hipcamp property, we are either at a free camp found on WiKicamps, or through local council website's, or on private property where we have made contact with the owner, or we know them personally or through friends.

Haloview BT7 Solar Reverse and Monitoring Camera
We recently installed this on our Caravan, the Amazing High Quality BT7 Wireless Solar Camera from Haloview, for Reversing and for Rear Vision while driving, and let me tell you that this is a GAME CHANGER when out on the road for safer towing and being able to see behind the Caravan, and eliminating any blindspots, plus there are so many other uses for this camera. πΈπΈ After installing the solar powered camera, and the monitor, which is all super EASY and Quick with NO drilling or cables to run, then testing it out on a quick trip away, we believe this to be the best Upgrade we have done, and the BEST Wireless reverse and monitoring camera we have ever used. The QUALITY of the picture on the monitor is AMAZING, as well as being able to record the footage like a rear DASHCAM, and with a inbuilt Mic in the Camera you can HEAR and SEE whats happening behind you......so GOOD...we LOVE IT. Check out the video of the camera here π

Auspit Compact Portable Camping Spit Rotisserie
We have started using the AusPit to try a different way of cooking over the open campfire, and as it says on the carry bag, this thing is a true "Little Aussie Legend"
After we used it for the first time, we realised that cooking this way is not only as good as cooking in the camp oven, but even better. These ease of setting up and using the AusPit, along with not needing to have a big fire and heaps of hot coals, and the super delicious smoky flavour of the cooked meal, mouth is watering just thinking about it, makes this the ultimate way of cooking when out camping or caravaning, or even at home.
Check it out in this video π
The Australian patented carrier bracket the goes on the upright pole is the key component that separates the AusPit apart from others on the market. With the squeeze locks on the pole for adjustable height of the rotisserie skewer to ensure the ideal cooking temperature, and squeeze lock spikes to hold the meal in place securely on the skewer, the AusPit is very easy to use and so versatile for cooking just about anything over the fire. The quality is nothing but 100% and very stable when operating. We purchased our Auspit from BBQ Spit Rotisseries online, and must say we were impressed with the amount of high quality products they have available for all types of cooking and smoking.
